School District No. 83 encourages the use of open source software. We have recently replaced all of our Novell and NT servers with Samba servers. Our District was featured in an Open Source white paper written by ERAC. You can view the report here. Every Elementary and Secondary school now has linux file and proxy servers with openldap backends. The School District is split into 4 zones with one tech assigned to each zone.
