Good school atmosphere, of course, has to start with the teachers and the principal. When I look at schools, it’s the teachers who are excited about what they’re doing that kids flock to, and it’s in schools filled with such teachers that kids are successful. The key, for me, is to keep everything as fun and enjoyable as possible. Fun and happiness are two of the most important factors in a good school and, in fact, in any organization. If we can’t enjoy ourselves while we are working hard, then something is not right. And, to me, even struggling can be fun and can have some greater meaning, so long as we’re struggling together.
