We will work co-operatively and collaboratively with all our partner groups, which include, parents, principals, teachers, support staff and students. The DPAC will encourage networking in all 25 schools in the North Okanagan Shuswap School District to learn and support one another with educational matters.

The DPAC will also encourage individual schools to become members of the British Columbia Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils to be able to have a strong voice at the Provincial Government level.

The DPAC, in conjunction with the North Okanagan Shuswap District has parent representatives who sit on a variety of District Committee’s, some examples are: District Policy, District School Planning Councils, District Middle Schools, District Hiring Committee, First Nations Educational Council. These are a few of our purposes that should encourage you to be come more involved

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED WITH THE DPAC?

Each school in North Okanagan Shuswap School District has the right to have a representative voting member attend the DPAC. The Parent Advisory Council must elect the DPAC Rep voting member, but any interested parent/guardian may also attend.

The DPAC Executive is elected in the month of September, from the DPAC voting members And they hold their positions annually. The Executive is able to hold office for up to a three (3) year period, if they so desire.

Notice of upcoming meetings and minutes from previous meetings are sent to the PAC President and/or DPAC representatives of each school. The DPAC meeting are held on the second Wednesday of the month, in the DPAC room at South Broadview at 6:30 pm

Here are a few examples of what DPAC supports:
