Ready, Set, Learn at Sorrento Elementary

On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, Sorrento Elementary welcomed families into the Multi-purpose Room for an engaging Ready, Set, Learn (RSL) session. Eleven young children participated, along with representatives from local early‑years organizations who offered information, resources, and support to families.

Activity stations throughout the space encouraged curiosity, creativity, and hands‑on learning. Children explored loose‑parts play with natural materials such as stones, wooden pieces, and baskets while nearby pretend‑play areas with play food, dishes, and small‑world setups encouraged simple storytelling and cooperative interaction.

Ready, Set, Learn is a free, province-wide initiative offered by our District to support families with children ages three to five. The program provides playful early learning experiences, helps children become familiar with school environments, and connects families with community partners who support a positive and confident transition into kindergarten.
