Virtual public budget meeting to provide input

A virtual public budget meeting will be held on Thursday, May 14 at 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. to give the public an opportunity to provide input to the School District No. 83 (North Okanagan-Shuswap) 2020-21 budget.

The meeting will begin with an initial overview of the budget by Secretary-Treasurer Alanna Cameron and will be followed by a question and answer period. During this session the public will be able to type in their questions and staff or trustees will answer. If you already have questions which you would like to see addressed during the meeting please email them to vdeacon@sd83.bc.ca with the subject line: Questions for Public Budget Meeting.

Cameron explains that after looking at funding, anticipated growth, set costs and anticipated cost increases, the District is anticipating very little discretionary funding for the upcoming year.

An information package about the budget will be available on the district website before the virtual public meeting.

As well, a survey will be going out to all parents and staff members.
