Eagle River Secondary

Eagle River Secondary is located in Sicamous, a popular vacation destination during all four seasons of the year. Its location on the shores of both Mara and Shuswap Lakes helped the community earn the title of Houseboat Capital of Canada. Additionally, the community is located in one of North America’s most popular snowmobiling areas therefore Sicamous is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream year-round! Residents and visitors of this bustling small town have the opportunity to snowmobile, golf and boat all in the same day during certain times of the year.

Homestays: Homestays for students are managed by the school district.

School Population: Approximately 150 students.

Grade Configuration: Grades 7-12.

Current Number of International Students: 3.

ESL Program: We do not currently have dedicated ESL classes at this school.

Community Population: The population in Sicamous is approximately 3 000 people. Sicamous is approximately 20 minutes by car to Salmon Arm (population 20 000).

Popular Local Activities: Mountain biking X-country skiing, snowshoeing, horseback riding, boating, fishing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, rowing, hiking and many more.

Closest Ski Hill: Revelstoke Mountain Resort.  Many students and families drive back and forth to Revelstoke Mountain Resort on a daily basis.  As well, busses run from Sicamous to Revelstoke and back on both Saturday and Sunday.
