This award is in memory of former elementary school teacher Maude Agar, who for many years taught at Silver Creek Elementary.
Maude and her husband, John, lived on a farm in Silver Creek where they raised horses, particularly Tennessee Walkers. John also worked as a custodian for School District 83 for over 20 years. The couple raised two sons, Kelly and Tim. Maude passed away unexpectedly in 1989.
Criteria:
For a student graduating from any secondary school located within SD83 who intends to pursue post-secondary education at an accredited institution. The recipient will be a person of good character and strong academic ability who has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities.
