Art Fair fun!

Young students from throughout the district had their art work on display at Piccadilly Mall in Salmon Arm from March 2-10 as part of the annual SD83 Elementary District Art Fair.

On Wednesday, March 8, a group of students from each participating school had the opportunity to work with local artisans trying their hands at loom beading with Diane Jewell, LEGO Mindstorms with Molly Cooperman, mixed media nature art with Tina Lepine, pen and ink drawing with Terry Greenhough, glob pots with Catherine Auten and Darryl Auten, print making with Judy Templeton, fibre arts with Anne Long, Japanese calligraphy with Eiko Ukehara, and drawing characters with Abe Totio.

Thanks to the artisans who shared their knowledge with our students! Also, a big thanks to organizers Corrinne Langston and Kirsten Mazur and all the school staff who organized the art work and made the displays!
