Families deal with wildfire
Our thoughts, concerns and best wishes are with our students, staff and families in the North Shuswap, as well as others in surrounding areas, coping with the tragic wildfires and evacuations.
“All of us at SD83 are holding our students, their families and loved ones close in our hearts. Your safety is of the utmost importance! We stand with you in spirit, hoping for a positive outcome during this challenging time,” says Superintendent of Schools Donna Kriger.
North Shuswap School Principal Chris Matheson comments that his thoughts are with the school family. “My thoughts are with all of our school families and the North Shuswap community during this extremely difficult and dangerous time, and we hope everyone can stay safe.”
SD83 has made available some school buses and drivers to help with evacuations. The buses are currently being used to transport people who have come across the lake by boat to Blind Bay to evacuate.
