Glow Gallery at Highland Park
Students and parents will have an opportunity to go “Under the Sea” in the unique art display at Highland Park Elementary!
The Under the Sea Glow Gallery is set up in an empty classroom at the school. Teacher Jenny Daughtry asked each classroom teacher to create artwork with their class using neon/fluorescent art supplies like paint, oil pastels, paper and markers. From there she and fellow teacher Peter Byrnes set up the black lights and arranged the artwork.
This week, students will have an opportunity to tour through the completed gallery. They will be leaving the gallery set up so that students can tour their parents through it during the upcoming parent conferences at the school!
Daughtry comments that it was the first time she has ever organized something like this, and she wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but it has been a big success!
“It has been a great collaborative project to bring the school together! The kids are very excited about it.”
