It is Time to Unplug & Play!

Unplug and Play Family Literacy Week is taking place from January 25 to February 1, 2025, and includes many free, fun activities around the region, so collect your family and go have some fun!

From magic shows to puppet plays, swimming to skating and music exploration to theatre and juggling lessons, there is something for everyone!

Don’t miss out on the Board Game Getaway, DreamCatcher Crafts, lantern making, family and youth boxing, break dancing and even tennis!

On Thursday, January 30, 2025, bring your youngsters to the DESC Strongstart for a Salmon Arm Winter Wonderland from 9 – 11 a.m. The outdoors will be coming in as the kids build “snow” creations, play games, sing songs with Roxy from The Groove Studio, listen to stories and enjoy hot chocolate and snack time!

This and other events will give you and your children the chance to connect with community, explore new activities, and meet your neighbours – all while taking a break from screens. It’s an opportunity to focus on the importance of literacy, physical activity, and social connections.
