Large Turnout for Little Mountain Stomp
More than 1,300 students from Kindergarten through Grade 7 participated in the annual SD83 Little Mountain Stomp cross country run in Salmon Arm on Wednesday, April 30.
Schools from across the District, as well as King’s Christian School, participated in the Stomp. The start and finish lines for all the runs were in the Field of Dreams, with the remainder of the course winding through the natural trails of Little Mountain Park. Course distances were varied depending on the age of the runners.
This year, a very successful para race was introduced to the event, with nine students and their certified education assistants participating. This addition exemplifies the District’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where every student feels welcome, safe, and connected to their school community.
A huge thank you goes out to the coaches and parent volunteer whose dedication and support made this event possible.
