Long Term Service Employees Recognized
Employees with 30 and 20 years of service to the school district were recognized by the K̓wsaltktnéws ne Secwepemcúl’ecw School District No. 83 Board of Education just before the Regular Board meeting started on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the District Education Support Centre.
Board Chair Corryn Grayston and Assistant Superintendent (HR) Michelle Guillou congratulated and thanked the recipients, presenting them with a District pen for 20 years and a plaque for 30. “Tonight, we gather to celebrate you. We are incredibly proud to have you as part of our team and extend our heartfelt congratulations on reaching this significant anniversary with us! We deeply appreciate the hard work and dedication you have invested in our school district for the benefit of our students, families, and staff. Your commitment over the years has not gone unnoticed,” said Guillou. “Thank you for being such a valuable member of our team. We wish you continued success in the future. Loyal and dedicated employees like you are the cornerstone of any thriving school district. Your contributions are truly appreciated.”
Grayston echoed Guillou’s remarks and added that on behalf of the Board, she thanked the employees for their long service and noted that the Board truly appreciates the dedication to SD83’s students and families.
Although not all could attend the ceremony, those recognized for 30 years service were: Gwen Beach, Tanya Bushell, Will Fazan, Karen Froess, Janet Gillis, Sonja Grant, Graham Gomme, Tanya Harrington, David Izik-Dzurko, Kilmer Hagen, Theresa Laverdiere, Elizabeth Mair, Natalie Parent, and Doris Tress.
Recognized for 20 years of service were Anthony Benge, Prab Dhaliwal, Jennifer Dodds, Jocelyn Duncan, Joanne Fitzpatrick, Stacy Morrison, Stephen Pyle, Chris Schielke, Kimberly Schmidt, Richard Scott, Leah Shykora, Lisa Smith, Susan Still, and Ken Tompkins.
