A new bench for students and families to use is now located at North Canoe Elementary School. This welcoming feature was built in memory of Shannon Martinson, the much loved school secretary at North Canoe, before her untimely death from cancer in 2019.

A dedication ceremony was held at North Canoe on Friday, Nov. 17. The bench was built by a local business owner whose children felt a close connection to their school because of Shannon’s caring nature. The memorial bench was installed at North Canoe Elementary to celebrate Shannon’s work with children and the community of Canoe.
