New Space for Learning at North Canoe

North Canoe Elementary is making room for growth. Due to increased enrolment, an additional division was added for the 2026-27 school year. To support this growth, the Operations Department worked closely with school staff to transform the former Learning Resource Teacher (LRT) room into a bright and welcoming classroom for Mrs. Kovacs' Grade 2/3 students. This included removing two custom-built offices spaces, lighting adjustments, updating cabinetry, and fresh paint in one week. The Operations Department is also developing a new LRT space that better reflects the needs of today's students, ensuring continued support for students and staff. It was a great opportunity to have SD83 electricians, carpenters, painters, and custodians work together on an emerging need for students. 

This project reflects the District's commitment to Organizational Development by adapting learning spaces to meet enrolment needs while ensuring students and staff have access to supportive and effective learning environments.
