New Student Registration on Aug. 29th
Welcome! Registration for students new to the district is on Tuesday, August 29 at your neighbourhood school! If you are registering a secondary school student, clerical and counsellors will be back at school during the week of August 28 to assist with new registrations. Families can call the school anytime that week to make an appointment to register and pick their classes.
Are you new to the school district and registering at North Shuswap Elementary or Sorrento Elementary (which are both currently under evacuation order)? Please call the SD83 education office at 250 804-7824 and we will get you registered!
If you aren’t sure which school your child should attend, a school locator tool as well as hopefully other helpful information can be found here on the SD83 website. If you prefer, you may also call the SD83 Transportation Department at (250) 832-9415 and they will take your address and let you know what school catchment area you live in!
If you are new to the area and you think your child will be riding the school bus please also call Transportation to determine if that is the case and to register your child for the bus! SD83 uses the app Traversa so parents and students can now access real-time data to access bus stop locations, assigned routes, and scheduled pick up and drop off times. This app is accessible on mobile devices and the web, is confidential and secure, is fully integrated with student transportation and GPS, and the GPS geolocation shows when to expect the bus each day.

Parents and students can download the app immediately, however the bus information for the 2023/24 school year will be subject to change over the summer, so therefore not accurate, until after August 18.
