Opportunity for all Interior parents thanks to SD23
Parents and guardians in School District No. 83 (North Okanagan-Shuswap) as well as those throughout the Interior of B.C. will have the opportunity to learn about digital wellness for their families thanks to School District No. 23 (Central Okanagan).
“We are excited to share with you an exciting and meaningful opportunity that School District 23 (Central Okanagan) is offering to not only their own parents, but all parents and guardians throughout the Interior of BC,” explains SD83 Director of Instruction Carol-Ann Leidloff. “Over the past three years, School District No. 23 has been exploring an ongoing inquiry with students, staff, and families on what it means to live well in an increasingly digital world.”
“In 2020, they ran a prototype Digital Wellness for Families online course with four school communities and received lots of great feedback from the group of parents that took part. Overall participants loved the helpful resources and ideas and wanted something more bite-sized and ongoing to help them explore digital wellness with their families.”
“To address this request, they are excited to offer a new series for parents/guardians called Digital Wellness – Bits & Bytes.”
Leidloff explains the series has bite-sized learning ideas and resources to help families learn to live well in a digital world. Those who subscribe will receive short online articles with resources, information, and helpful ideas to support themselves and their family in collectively growing their digital wellness knowledge and skills.
The official launch is January 2022. All subscribers will receive Digital Wellness related articles, via email, every two weeks with help tips, ideas, resources, and more!
