Ready, Set, Learn at Grindrod Elementary

Grindrod Elementary hosted their Ready, Set, Learn event on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Eighteen children between the ages of 3-5 attended, along with several toddlers who joined in the fun. The local Public Health Nurse joined the event and spent time connecting with families.

The room was set up with a wide range of playful learning stations that encouraged creativity, curiosity, and hands on exploration. Children spent time engaging in imaginative play with pretend kitchen materials and animal figures. Other popular areas included play materials such as stones, pompoms, yarn, wooden pieces, and sorting trays that encouraged children to explore, build, and experiment. Craft stations provided children with the chance to use scissors, glue, tape, textured materials, and bright craft pieces to create their own artwork.

Ready, Set, Learn is a free and province wide initiative offered by our District to support families with children ages three to five. The program introduces young learners to school environments through playful early learning experiences and helps families connect with local community partners who support a positive and confident transition into kindergarten.
