School bus accident

UPDATE 5:11 p.m: All students are on their home. SD83 Superintendent of Schools adds SD83 will be connecting with families over the next two days to check in on the well–being of the students.

There was an accident involving two school buses this afternoon. At approximately 4 p.m., two buses, the Lizard and Deer buses, were involved in a minor rear-end collision near the intersection of 50th Ave and the Trans Canada Highway (Pierre’s Point area). None of the students on board the bus at the time of the accident were seriously injured but at this time it is unknown if there are any minor injuries.

Emergency vehicles arrived at the scene quickly. New buses have been dispatched to transport the students home.
