From a little zip lock bag full of parts to a functioning car, the Grade 4-5 students at Hillcrest Elementary School had the opportunity June 10-11 to build model solar cars with retired teacher Neil Caves.
Caves, who is a director of Shuswap Solar Energy Society, showed the students about how solar energy works, as well as working in some lessons about problem solving and the need for accuracy.
Caves added he is very happy to share this workshop at other schools.
