Special meeting and consultation today
Just a reminder the Board of Education of School District No. 83 (North Okanagan-Shuswap) is holding its annual Board elections and a public consultation session on the long range facilities plan today.
Trustees will be holding elections at a special meeting of the Board on Thursday, November 12 at 3 p.m. at the District Education Support Centre (DESC).
Trustees will elect the chairperson, vice-chairperson, and representatives to the B.C. School Trustees’ Association (BCSTA), and B.C. Public Schools Employers’ Association (BCPSEA) for the upcoming year.

At 6 p.m. there will be another livestream meeting, this time a public consultation meeting focussing on the greater Salmon Arm area and feeder schools.
SD83 is continuing the consultation process around the development of its long range facilities plan particularly in the greater Salmon Arm area.
Over the past year numerous consultations have been held throughout the school district with parents, community, municipal and regional governments and staff. Options have been determined in many areas but two new options have been suggested for the Salmon Arm and surrounding areas, which means further consultation in those areas is required.
