Students do well at BCs
Students from Pleasant Valley Secondary, Len Wood, Salmon Arm Secondary Jackson, and Salmon Arm Secondary Sullivan qualified to take part in the Track and Field provincials held in Langley June 9-11.
Len Wood
Anna Melvin won silver in the Women’s Javelin throw (Grade 8).10th in the women 200 dash (Gr. 8), and 17th in the women 100 dash (Grade 8).
PVSS
Isla Isaac finished 19th and Joselynn Vigue tied for 25th in Jr. high jump. Jed Siddons finished 16th in Sr Long Jump. Also qualifying for the provincials were Ryder Barth (discus), and Tomas Subias (1500 metres).
SAS Jackson and SAS Sullivan had some really great results, said coach Suzanne Beckner. The top results included Brynne Smith claiming bronze in Junior Girls Javelin, Sam Calkins was sixth in the Senior Boys 2000m Steeplechase, Caillie Vicars was 10th in the Senior Girls 400m, and Jack Maryniuk was 10th in the Senior Boys 200m.
