The Indigenous Education department for School District No. 83 (North Okanagan-Shuswap) is located at the District Education Support Centre. Indigenous Education partners with schools, teachers, Special Education, district administration, Indigenous communities and Indigenous students and their families to strengthen Indigenous voice, presence and perspective in schools and classrooms across the district. Our district has more than 1100 Indigenous learners. School District No. 83 covers an area of 8,500 square kilometers located on Secwepemc territory, around the Shuswap Lake and North Okanagan.
