Aboriginal Education Enhancement Agreement
In partnership between the First Nations Education Council and School District No. 83, the formation of the second Aboriginal Education Enhancement Agreement was created.
The purpose of the First Nations Education Council is to work jointly with School District No. 83 to support education programs funded through Provincial Government Ministries that will enhance the learning experiences for all Indigenous learners within the district. The council guides the design, implementation and assessment of programs and services that will improve and enhance the learning opportunities for Indigenous students.
The council members include a representative from each of the four Secwepemc bands (Adams Lake, Little Shuswap Lake, Neskonlith, and Splatsin Nation) within School District No. 83, a representative for the urban Indigenous population, a Métis representative plus a School District No. 83 Trustee representative.

Local Education Agreement (LEA)
The LEA is effective starting July 13th, 2017, between Adams Lake Indian Band, Neskonlith Indian Band, Little Shuswap Lake Indian Band, Splatsin and School District No. 83.

First Nations Education Council

The First Nations Education Council (FNEC) was formed to work collaboratively with School District No. 83 to support education programs funded through the Provincial Ministry to enhance the learning experiences for all Indigenous learners within the school district. The council includes the Secwepemc Bands, Métis representation, Urban Indigenous representation and District representation including the Chief Superintendent or designate and the District Principal of Indigenous Education.
The purpose of the First Nations Education Council is to support relevant high quality learning experiences for Indigenous learners in School District No. 83. The mission of the Council will represent Indigenous interests in the design, implementation and assessment of Indigenous programs and services.
