Student health and wellness encompasses physical, emotional, and mental well-being. There is a direct correlation between academic success and overall well-being. Here are some links to Health Resources which you may find helpful:


SD83 Wellness Centres

A multidisciplinary health and wellness centre for youth in partnership with Interior Health. They provide a safe, culturally sensitive and comfortable setting for youth to seek care and engage with a multitude of health and wellness services. Youth are able to access Community Partner Agencies within the Wellness Centre or access guidance in resourcing alternate community services.

Kelty Mental Health

The BC Children’s Kelty Mental Health Resource Centre provide mental health and substance use information, resources, and peer support to families across BC, with a child or youth up to the age of 24. All of our services are free of charge.

Where Wellness takes Shape!

With a mission to support young people in living a good life, Foundry BC provides health and wellness resources, services, supports for 12 to 24 year olds. Find information on mental health, substance use, life, school and work, and answers to tough questions.


Egale – 2SLGBTQI+ Resources

Egale believes and works towards a world where every person, regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity, can achieve their full potential, free from hatred and bias. They provide online resources, and an Action Hub with information and tools to combat hate.

The TREVOR project

The Trevor Project is the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention nonprofit organization for LGBTQ+ young people. They provide information & support to LGBTQ+ young people 24/7, all year round.

2SLGBTQI+ Specific counselling and resources

Drug Free Kids Canada

Drug Free Kids has a parent support hub with both Live Help 24/7 as well as information on talking with your kids about drugs, what the issues are, information on drugs and parent support groups. There is also access to webinars!

Anxiety Canada’s mission is to reduce the barrier of anxiety and related disorders so people can live the life they want. We offer trusted resources and programs to help individuals find relief from anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).


Jack.org

Suicide is a leading cause of death for young people in Canada. Jack.org is changing that reality by providing life-changing mental health programs to foster awareness, education, and support in communities nationwide. This includes Jack Talks, which are mental health presentations that use the power of personal stories and peer-to-peer connection to spark open dialogue about mental health challenges, support, and resources.

MediaSmarts 

MediaSmarts has been developing digital media literacy programs and resources for Canadian homes, schools and communities since 1996. Their work falls into three main areas: education, public awareness, and research and policy. This includes the Teen Fact Checking Network! The Teen Fact-Checking Network is a virtual newsroom made up of middle and high schoolers who use social media to debunk viral misinformation and share media literacy tips.
